Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: May 2-5, 2023

OREGON — On May 2 at approximately 3:33 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Park Street in Davis Junction. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested James Watson, 73, of Rockford, for no valid driver's license. Watson was also cited for suspended registration, no insurance and illegal transportation of liquor. Watson was released on scene with a return court date.

On May 3 at approximately 3:20 p.m. deputies along with Oregon Fire/EMS responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1,000 block of North River Road. After conducting an investigation, it was learned that a green Chevrolet Trailblazer, operated by 18-year-old Jordan Coldren of Byron, was traveling southbound through a curve when the vehicle exited the roadway entering the ditch before striking a cluster of trees causing heavy damage to the vehicle. Coldren sustained a laceration to his head and right knee and was transported to Swedish American Hospital for further evaluation. Coldren was later issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Carr Towing was contacted to remove the vehicle as a result of the crash. 

On May 5 at 1:02 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of North Union Road. As a result, Anthony Q. Mayo, 32, of Polo was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Mayo was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Mayo was released on an I-Bond with a court date to appear.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
