OREGON – Tuesday, July 7, The Oregon Farmers Market managed by the Oregon Park District opened for business.
In spite of the heat, vendors loaded up their vehicles will home grown or handmade items and community members came out to support them. It was great seeing families riding downtown to the market, people stopping to shop on their evening walk, and those that came in spite of the heat because they have been waiting for the opportunity to buy fresh local vegetables and goods.
Shopping at the market is something many look forward to and it is a safe outdoor shopping experience. The farmer’s market is still the best place to get the freshest food, beautiful plants, delicious berries, award winning BBQ sauce, jams and jellies, and more.
If you missed the Market this week, we invite you to stop by on Tuesday evenings, between 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the old bank drive through between the Post Office and Chili Pepper (418 W. Washington Street). Booths are 6 feet apart and we are following all social distancing guidelines. Plese wear a mask to the market for your safety and the safety of our vendors. If exhibiting any signs of illness, please stay home. We ask that you practice social distancing with only one customer at a time at a booth. Sanitary practices will also be in effect with vendor areas sanitized and hand sanitizer available for customers. Use touchless payments if possible or when using cash, change will not be offered.
Thanks to those who are supporting our local growers. We hope to see community members stopping by each Tuesday to purchase fresh locally grown food and goods.
