Park District offers meals

OREGON – The Oregon Park District is participating in the USDA/ISBE Summer Meals program this summer.

This involves giving away free sacked lunches provided by Lifescapes Community Services Inc. to anyone 18 years and under every Thursday this summer.

This service takes place every Thursday from noon-1 p.m. at Mix Park, 701 South Fourth St., Oregon. This is an equal opportunity provider.

Lunches must be eaten on site. Each lunch will follow the USDA standards of a meal containing a meat sandwich with a fruit and/or vegetable and a container of milk. This service will be accompanied with additional activities such as music, games, crafts and more.

For those looking for more meal opportunities, the United Methodist Church will also be serving free lunches through the Northern Illinois Food Bank each Tuesday and Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Mark your calendars to join the Oregon Park District at Mix Park each Thursday for Summer Meals.
