STILLMAN VALLEY – Philip Victor Cory, age 87, died on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019. He was a longtime Stillman Valley area resident. He was born Jan. 29, 1932 in Chicago the son of Victor Edwin and Bernice (Tucker) Cory. 

He graduated from Hampden Debose Academy in Zellwood, Fla. Philip married Carol Sue Dolley on July 23, 1989 at the Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. He formerly worked in the printing industry as a Printing Camera Man, Plate Maker, Estimator, and Production Operator. Philip was a longtime member of the Valley Evangelical Covenant Church in Stillman Valley where he also previously taught Sunday school and was an Awana Leader. He and his wife Carol loved to square dance. He was also a Hospice Volunteer and an avid Cubs Fan.  

He was predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers; Paul, Lloyd, and Daniel Cory. 

He is survived by his wife Carol of Stillman Valley, 2 daughters; Rebecca Cory of West Dundee, and Ruth (Terry) Armstrong of St. Charles, 4 step children; Maxine Lindell, Jean Marcks, Randall (Gail) Marcks, and Timothy Marcks, 2 granddaughters; Rachel (Tom) Pursel of Sycamore, and Megan Armstrong of St. Charles, 5 step grandchildren; Crystal, Mark, Steven, Michelle, Elizabeth, and Monica, 4 great grandchildren; Cora, Tommy, Elaina, and Eden.

Funeral service was 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019 at the Kishwaukee Community Presbyterian Evangelical Church near Stillman Valley with the Rev. Rick Lindholtz officiating.  Visitation was prior to the service on Saturday at the church from 9-10:45 a.m. A memorial fund is established for the Valley Evangelical Covenant Church or Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.  To leave a condolence visit www.farrellhollandgale.com.
