DAVIS JUNCTION – Robert A. “Bob” Protz, age 81, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at his home in Davis Junction. He was born March 3, 1939 in Berwyn, the son of George and Eleanor (Meduna) Protz.
He attended Fenton High School. Robert married Ann M. Andersen on Aug. 27, 1958 in Chicago. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Bob retired after 45 years as an operating engineer for Local # 150. He enjoyed fishing with his family. ob was a former Trustee of the Village of Davis Junction.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Ann of Davis Junction, 5 children; Stephen (Mary) Protz of Tucson, Ariz., Robert (Sheralyn) Protz, Jr. of Elgin, Marguerite “Meg” Welch of Apache Junction, Ariz., Brian Protz of Davis Junction, and Colleen (Jeffrey) Benson of Lake Zurich, Ill., Siblings; George (Patricia) Protz of Apache Junction, Ariz., Marilyn (John) Sanecki of Wood Dale, IL, Jeanne Rotella of Lake Villa, IL, and Ronald Protz of Lawrence, Ill., 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
