OREGON – Robert L. Martin, 78, lifelong Oregon resident, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 in his home. Born July 31, 1941 in Oregon, the son of Eugene and Clara (Bolthouse) Martin.
Married to Rita Kersten April 29, 1962 in Oregon. Bob was a 1959 graduate of Oregon High School and was employed 47 years at Wood’s Manufacturing, starting the day after his high school graduation and retiring in 2006. He also owned and operated Town & Country Liquors in Mt. Morris for 10 years. Bob was a fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and of the Chicago Cubs.
Survived by his wife, Rita Martin of Oregon; son, Todd Martin of Oregon; daughter, Marcy (Wayne) Bjorklund of Oregon; grandchildren: Patrick (Tiffany) Martin, Austin Bjorklund, Ashtin Bjorklund and Dalton Martin; great grandchild, Rhett Martin; brothers: Chrissie (Ann) Martin of Oregon and Larry Martin of New Milford; and sister-in-law. Donna Martin of Oregon.
Predeceased by his parents and brother, Gary Martin.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at Oregon Church of God with Pastor Michael Hoffman officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Oregon. A walk-through visitation was held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. Social distancing and face coverings were required. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon.
