BYRON – Robert P. Besonen, age 57, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 22, 2018. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Nov. 11, 1960 the son of Richard and Bernice (Obinger) Besonen.
He married Joanne Reder on Sept. 21, 1985. He was a member of Heartland Community Church in Rockford. Robert was an avid fisherman and golfer who was very particular about keeping a wel- manicured lawn.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Byron; mother, Bernice Besonen of DeKalb; sons, Eric Besonen of Byron and Michael Besonen of DeKalb; brothers, Bruce (Tyann) Besonen, Bill (Brenda) Besonen, and Brad (Mari Ann) Besonen; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron with Pastor Gary Cortese officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-noon prior to the service. Memorials are established.
