MOUNT MORRIS – Ronald J. Davis, age 71, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wis. Ron was born on May 10, 1947 in Rockford, the son of Robert J. and Marion E. (Gudmundson) Davis.

Ron grew up in Mount Morris and graduated from Mount Morris High School class of 1965, “MOUNDERS FOREVER.” After high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany from 1966-1968. He worked for Quebcor (Kable) Printing for 35 years, on his last day of work he took off his watch and never wore it again. Ron married Barbara Stahl, not once, but twice and always argued about what date was the correct anniversary date.

They had two children: Terry and Dawn, both of Mount Morris. There was nothing more special to Ron than his 3 grandchildren: Jayden, Shaylee, and Alexys.

Ron enjoyed collecting things, antiques, the outdoors and can’t forget the casino. He belonged to the Mount Morris Moose; he enjoyed mowing the Moose lawn since he had a riding lawn mower to kick back with and less dog poop then the lawn at home. Ron was a Vikings and Dodgers fan and enjoyed watching the games on Sundays with his family.

Ron is survived by his wife: Barbara; son: Terry; daughter: Dawn; grandchildren: Jayden, Alexys, and Shaylee; nieces: Heidi and Julie; and nephew: Jeff.
