MT. MORRIS — Ronald Karl Duane Bjorklund, 87, passed away on Tuesday Feb. 28 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris. Ron was born on Feb. 19, 1936 in Milroy, Minnesota; the son of Robert A. & Ellen A. (Johnson) Bjorklund. He graduated from high school in Tracy, Minnesota the class of 1954. Ron was a member of the Michigan National Guard and he moved to Mt. Morris in 1974 from Michigan. 

Ron married Neita A. (Weigle) Buck on Jan. 6, 1974 in Oregon and she preceded him in death in 2008.

Ron was a member of the Mt. Morris Lions Club, Mt. Morris Moose Lodge #1551, he was on the Trinity Lutheran Church Council for six years and five of the six years he served as president, and he was an avid Cubs fan.

Ron is survived by his children: Nancy (Michael) Prier, West Burlington, Iowa, David (Beverly) Bjorklund, Byron, Wayne (Marcy) Bjorklund, Oregon; two grandsons: Brendon (Amber) Hamann and Austin Bjorklund; four granddaughters: Elizabeth (Chase) Phelps, Brianne Bjorklund, Ashtin Bjorklund, and Brittany (Rob) Rubio; three great grandsons and two great granddaughters; three brothers: James Bjorklund, Gold Canyon, Arizona and Curtis Bjorklund, Winder, Georgia; sister: Ruth Sanbo, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Neita; one son: Bruce; three brothers: Robert, Roy, and Kenneth; and five sisters: Alice, Margaret, June, Mae and Irene.

Memorial services will be held on Friday March 3 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt, Mt. Morris at 11 a.m. with Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday March 3 from 10:30 a.m. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
