FORRESTON – Ronald “Ron” P. Bahr, 74, of Forreston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. He was born Sept. 8, 1946 in Guilford Township, Ill., to Menno and Carolyn (Paul) Bahr.
Ron was employed at Kelly Springfield for over 34 years upon retiring in 2003. On May 6, 1979 he married Cynthia Koeller at Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport. Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church in Forreston. He enjoyed gardening and attending farmers markets. Ron was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife Cindy of Forreston; children Jeff Bahr of Freeport, Daniel (Stephanie) Bahr of Mason City, Iowa, Christina (Jason) Tillery of Forreston, Ryan Bahr of Forreston, and Cari (Ben) Modlinger of Forreston; siblings Charles (Mary) Bahr of St. Robert, Mo., Carol Pitman of Erie, Ill., and Vicki Stilson of Scales Mound, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding Ron in death is his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
A walkthrough visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Social distancing and face masks will be required at the visitation. Private family services will be held the following day. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Ron’s memory.
