OREGON – Ruth A. Capriola, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was born on Sept. 13, 1926 in Rochelle the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Dame.
She married William H. Capriola on June 29, 1957 in Rochelle; he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2015. Ruth owned and operated the Café of Conover Square with her husband and was an avid reader. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon. Ruth’s biggest joy was her family and she will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan McQueen of Marietta, Ga.; granddaughters, Nichole (Jeff) Burfield and Stacy Erisman both of Ashton; great granddaughters, Megan Cheatham, Caitlin Cheatham, and Cheyanne Cabrera; and great-great grandchild Meadow Zies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nancy and siblings Jack Dame and Sally Hubbard.
A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Oregon. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and at Serenity Hospice for the loving care they provided Ruth during the last few years of her life. In lieu of flowers memorials are established for Serenity Hospice and Home.
