MOUNT MORRIS – Stanley J. Ubben, age 75, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris. Stan was born on Feb. 24, 1944 in Freeport, the son of Walter and Erma (Stengel) Ubben.
Stan graduated from Mount Morris High School Class of 1963, and then he completed Mechanical Training at Universal Trade School in Omaha, Neb. Stan served in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam stationed in Thailand. Stan was the owner/operator of Stan’s Performance Auto Repair since 1972 retiring in 2008. Stan married Kathy Noon on May 25, 2001 in Oregon. Stan was a member Trinity Lutheran Church; he loved to drag race, his muscle cars, towing vehicles, fixing things, helping others, and spending time with his family.
Stan is survived by his wife: Kathy Ubben; daughters: Tamara (Christopher) Wall, Reno, Nev., and Tricia (Stanwood) Black, Mount Morris; grandchildren: Tyler Black, Mount Morris, Arika Black, Mount Morris, Miranda Wall, Reno, Nev., and Liam Wall, Reno, Nev.; brothers: Ralph (Dora) Ubben and Warren (Carol) Ubben, Mount Morris.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at 11 a.m.. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris. Burial in Plainview Cemetery, Mount Morris. Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mount Morris.
