SVHS Environmental Club earns 3rd recycled bench

The Stillman Valley High School Environmental Club has been actively collecting and recycling soft plastic for three years. Last year, they won a nationwide competition between 608 schools of similar size by collecting 1,955 pounds of plastic. The award was a recycled plastic bench for the school grounds. This year instead of a competition, TREX, the company that sponsors the recycling efforts, decided to just have a set goal of 1,000 pounds to be collected to earn a bench. After collecting the 1,000 pounds needed the SVHS Environmental Club has now earned a third recycled bench for their school. Recycling efforts will continue throughout the year and be added to the total to earn yet another bench for next year. Pictured are members of the Stillman Valley High School Environmental Club.
