STILLMAN VALLEY – Stillman Valley High School senior, Ryan McNeilly, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

His project was to design the flower bed for the welcome sign at the Monroe Center community church. He then led his troop to build the design.

McNeilly has been involved in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts 8 years. He has 41 merit badges. McNeilly said that the most rewarding part of Boy Scouts was “earning merit badges and learning skills you didn't know you had. Also, camping and hanging out with your friends. That's what it's all about."

McNeilly was presented the Ka-Bar knife by the Marine Corp. It's a knife that Marines are issued once they become a marine.

“Mister Ryan McNeilly is an exceptional young man who exemplifies dedication to SVHS and to his community,” said SVHS Principal Leslie Showers. “His hard work has certainly paid off, and we're very proud of his accomplishments.”
