BYRON – Vivian F. Houpt, 97, of Byron, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 in Generations at Neighbors, Byron. Born April 1. 1923 in Oregon, the daughter of Bert and Mamie (Engelkes) Griswold.
Married to Lester E. Houpt June 6, 1941 in Mt. Morris; he died Nov. 7, 1999. Vivian was a 1940 graduate of Oregon High School and worked with her husband on the family farm in Rockvale Township for many years prior to moving to Byron.
Survived by her daughter, Betty (Richard) Messer of Byron; grandson, Ron (Paul Williams) Messer of Costa Mesa, Calif.; granddaughter-in-law, Brandie Messer of Stillman Valley; and great grandsons, Brett Messer and Devan (fiancé Seth Kuss) Messer, both of Stillman Valley. Also predeceased by her parents and grandsons, Keven Messer and Steven Messer.
In keeping with Vivian’s wishes, no services are scheduled. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vivian’s name may be made to Village of Progress, Oregon. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron assisted the family with arrangements.
