Volunteer firefighters needed at Chana Station

The Oregon Fire Protection District needs volunteer firefighters at its Chana Station.

Chana resident Dany Dwyer was the last area firefighter to retire which has left the station unattended. Other firefighters from the Chana area were Tim Mitchusson, John Jones, Ed Travis, Ed Mowery, Dave Dwyer and Virgil Toefer (unintentional if we missed others).

The station was built in 1992 from a donation and served well for the small community. Presently with no area firefighters the station has been used for storage of older equipment.

With the addition of Chana area firefighters and a certified First Attack truck we would be able to provide the First Response team for area Chana residents in case of an emergency.
