POLO – Nearly 550 people headed out to Barnacopia in Polo for What’s Cookin’, the annual fundraiser for Rock River Center on Saturday, March 25.
Executive Director Ann Haas said they were a little surprised when 500 people came through the door in the first hour.
“With it being a three-hour event we were concerned that we would run short of food, but the teams did an awesome job of preparing, presenting and serving the attendees,” she said.
Once again, the team from ED Etnyre won the award for Best in Show. All winners were selected by those in attendance.
This was the first year a Junior Chef division was added to the event, and Haas said they were a big hit.

“We have heard nothing but great comments and people are awaiting our date for next year,” Haas said. “Thanks so much for supporting Rock River Center and the seniors of Ogle County.”

The winners were:
Appetizers: Jen’s Artisan Bread
Side Dish: Mighty Vine
Juniors: Flippin Cowgirls
Entrée: Ed Etnyre
Desserts: Oregon Living and Rehabilitation
Best of Show: Etnyre
