BYRON – William C. Meiter, age 82, passed away at his home on Aug. 9, 2019. He was born on Aug. 17, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois the son of William and Harriet (Bertram) Meiter.
He married Charlotte Reiter on June 13, 1959. William worked as a service technician for IBM for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed his dogs, woodworking, crafts, and tinkering with anything mechanical. He was a family man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
William is survived by his wife Charlotte of Byron; sons, Chris (Joann) Meiter of Rockford and Craig (Michele) Meiter of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Reed, Benjamin (Brittany) Meiter, and Marissa (Robert) Meiter; and great grandchildren, Rizzie, Nico, and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
