OREGON — The Ogle County 4-H Federation hosted its annual 4-H Penny Carnival at the Blackhawk Center in Oregon on March 8. Penny Carnival is much like a fun fair, but features games dreamed up and designed by the 4-H clubs in the county. All 12 of the county's clubs participated, dreaming up games based on the theme “Cereal-sly Fun with 4-H” and encouraging the development of a wide range of game types.
Cash prizes were awarded to two clubs for games determined to be “Most Entertaining” and two clubs for games determined to be “Most Creative.” There was also a People’s Choice Award. Congratulations to all of the following:
Most Entertaining: By-Y-Badgers 4-H Club, Byron (Magically Delicious); Mighty Clovers 4-H Club, Monroe Center (Cereal Maze).
Most Creative/Best Use of Theme: Carefree 4-H Club, Oregon (4-H Loops); Pine Creek Valley 4-H Club, Polo (Fruit Loop Frency).
People’s Choice: Blackhawk Crossing 4-H Club, Oregon/Mt. Morris (Lucky Charm Slot Machine); By-Y-Badgers 4-H Club, Byron (Magically Delicious).
Proceeds from the night will be divided equally among participating clubs. Many thanks to the hundreds of Ogle County families who attended!
