Bass Fishing: Byron's Morgan wins B.A.S.S Nation Qualifier

BHS alum reels in 31 pounds and 10 ounces over three-day span.

Byron High School alum Tanner Morgan recently won the non-boater title during the 2024 Mercury B.A.S.S. Nation Qualifier on the Mississippi River at Freedom Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin from May 8-10.

Morgan reeled in nine fish to record a three-day total of 31 pounds and 10 ounces and finish first out of over 110 anglers in the non-boater division. Morgan landed a first-day total of 12 pounds and 10 ounces before adding 10 pounds and seven ounces on the second day and concluding the event with 8 pounds and 9 ounces on the third and final day.

With his win, Morgan qualified for the B.A.S.S. Nation National Championships, which will be held on the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees in Grove, Oklahoma from Nov. 6-8, 2024.
