Boys Track: Forreston-Polo athletes medal at IHSA State Championship

Team takes sixth in 400-meter relay, fifth in 800-meter relay, eighth in 1600-meter relay

CHARLESTON — The Forreston-Polo boys track and field team's season concluded at the IHSA 1A State Championship meet from May 29-31. Forreston-Polo medaled in three relay races.

The 800-meter relay team (Eli Ferris, Brody Schwartz, Jon Milnes and Noah Dewey) finished fifth in 1:30.17. The 400-meter relay team (Mercer Mumford, Brody Schwartz, Jon Milnes and Noah Dewey) took sixth in 43.38 seconds and the 1600-meter relay team (Brody Schwartz, Hayden Vinnedge, Eli Ferris and Noah Dewey) placed eighth in 3:27.85.

Forreston-Polo qualified athletes in the 400-meter dash (Hayden Vinnedge - 28th in 52.38 seconds), 110-meter hurdles (Eli Ferris - 15th in 15.67 seconds and Lucas Nelson - 36th in 16.58 seconds), shot put (Jakob Kobler - 34th in 13.22 meters), discus (Hunter DeWall - 11th in 44.55 meters), high jump (Eli Ferris - 15th in 1.83 meters and Jon Milnes - 18th in 1.78 meters) and triple jump (Billy Lowry).
