BYRON — People Helping People is proud to announce the CPKC Holiday Train will be stopping in Byron at the Colfax Street crossing on Nov. 27 at 11:45 a.m. This local stop will feature a 30-minute Christmas jam featuring Canadian singers Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish as well as allowing a close-up view at the Holiday Train all decorated for Christmas. The CPKC makes this run to help bring to light those with food insecurities in both the United States and Canada and to support the different food pantries along the way. Food insecurity is a major issue now with food costs being so high. The performances are designed to assist the local food pantries by generating food or monetary donations so they can help those in need, especially during this holiday season. People Helping People is the local food pantry in Byron serving people in six townships of Ogle County. The Holiday Train is enjoyed by young and old alike and the kids will be out of school! So, come enjoy the performance and make a food or monetary donation if you are able. Rumor has it that Santa may be watching the show also!
