OREGON — The Byron High School varsity cross country team opened its season at the Oregon Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Tigers took eighth out of 21 schools and Tim Starwalt led the boys in the meet, finishing fifth out of 162 runners with a time of 16:16.2. Braden Dietrich took 41st with a time of 18:05.5 and Michael Muzzarelli placed 53rd with a time of 18:33.0.
The Lady Tigers finished fourth out of 18 schools and Ashley Potter led the girls, taking 18th out of 131 runners with a time of 21:28.5. Emma Franchi finished 30th with a time of 22:39.0 and Elinor McHale placed 34th with a time of 22:49.4. Gabriella Northrup took 37th in 22:54.9 and Grace Burnes finished 40th in 23:11.5.
