POLO — Polo eighth-grader Abram Garcia raced with the Dixon Distance Club during the 2024 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at the Blue River Cross Country Course in Indiana on Dec. 14. Garcia finished in 14th place with a time of 12:54.3 in the 4,000-meter race for 13 and 14-year-old boys, earning All-American honors.
Garcia finished third with a time of 13:37.9 at the 2024 Illinois Youth XC Championships at Deer Grove East on Nov. 10. The Polo standout then took third in the 2024 USATF Illinois Association All-Comers XC Championships at Proviso West High School on Nov. 16, clocking in with a time of 13:16.3. Garcia continued his strong month of racing at the 2024 USATF Region 7 Junior Olympic Championships on Nov. 23, when he finished fourth with a time of 13:31.5.
