DIXON — Donald "Don" Neil Rogers, Sr., 88, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at OSF Saint Katharine Medical Center, in Dixon, surrounded by his family.
Don was born on December 1, 1936, in Walnut, IL, the son of Howard and Eva (Willstead) Rogers. He married Joyce Ann Rogers on April 7, 1957, in Harmon, IL, spending 66 wonderful years together before her passing on February 19, 2024. To sum up a man like Don - family and farming were his life. He was a proud lifelong farmer, working alongside his wife on the family farm. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his boys, he loved to tend to his cattle, and continued Joyce's love of gardening. Don was a family man through & through. He cherished his time spent with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Don is survived by his children, Don (Debra) Rogers, Jr., Bob (Ronette) Rogers, Peg (Ted) Oslay, Tim (Kim) Rogers, Ted (Leanne) Rogers; brother, Roy (Roxie) Rogers; sister, Ila Mae Sieberns; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Howard Rogers, Jr., Charles Rogers; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Eugene Sieberns; and one great-grandson, Cash Theodore Kenneth Majeski.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at Noon on Saturday, March 8, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon, with Rev. Angelo Bonacquisti, from First General Baptist Church, in Rochelle, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established.
