POLO — Evelyn M. Shellhause passed peacefully on 10/18/2024 at Walnut Acres in Freeport, IL at the age of 93.
She was born February 13, 1931 in Polo, the daughter of Oliver and Elizabeth (Barnes) Ohlwine.
She married Eldon W Shellhause on July 31, 1954 in Mt Morris and had 2 children, Crystal L (Lonnie) Smith of Springfield and Wayne (Trixie) Shellhause of Freeport. Also surviving are one brother, Orlan Ohlwine of Polo, one grandchild, Amanda L (Smith) Matson of Sherman, IL and two great- grandchildren, Kaden M Matson and Dylan J Matson of Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Orville and one sister Alma.
Polo Family Funeral Home in Polo is in charge of arrangements for the family, as cremation rights have been exercised. Burial will be at Brick Church Cemetery, Polo, IL. In a private ceremony.
