First State Bank Shannon Polo Lake Carroll announces grant award to Lillian Noah Salon

POLO — FHLBank Chicago awarded Lillian Noah Salon a grant of $15,000 through its Community First Accelerate Grants for Small Business program through partnership with First State Bank Shannon Polo Lake Carroll.

Lillian Noah Salon PLLC is named after owner Lisa Patton’s daughter and son. Lillian Noah Salon opened in 2022 with a small startup budget. This grant will create a great impact, allowing for the ability to purchase a few essential furniture pieces and tools, including a new shampoo bowl, chair and styling station. The new chair will create a comfortable experience for both the customer and stylist and will be a much-needed addition. The new styling station include an infrared hair processor would make hair treatments sterile and safe. The business is also planning on purchasing new signage to display in the community plaza.

“Being a hairstylist is more than just cutting hair; it's touching the community and caring for the people who live within it. I feel great pride that this is my life's work.” Patton said.

Accelerate Grants assist the growth and development of small businesses in Illinois and Wisconsin, creating economic opportunity in the communities FHLBank Chicago members serve. Through its member institutions, FHLBank Chicago offers grants of up to $30,000 to eligible small businesses.
