STILLMAN VALLEY — The Stillman Valley High School varsity girls basketball team won the IHSA 2A Stillman Valley Regional Championship with a 60-44 victory against Winnebago on Thursday evening. The Cardinals (30-1, 8-1 BNC) will advance to play in the IHSA 2A Rock Falls Sectional next week.
Taylor Davidson led the Cardinals with 22 points, while Dailene Wade and Lillian Green each added 14 points during the regional championship game. Stillman Valley opened the regional tournament with a 58-31 victory against Marengo on Tuesday.
The team includes Olivia Voltz, Joslyn Nanni, Nola Ivy-Friberg, Lillian Green, Amelia Dunseth, Taylor Davidson, Emma Withers, Abby Gilliam, Addisyn Faerber, Alyvia Bagg, Dailene Wade, Brooklyn Lee and Brooke Jordal. The team is led by head coach Bobby Mellon.
