CHARLESTON — The Byron High School girls track and field season concluded in the IHSA 2A State Championship at Eastern Illinois University from May 23-24. Byron earned state medals in the 100-meter hurdles (Malia Morton - ninth in 15.67 seconds) and the high jump (Neve Schilling - fourth at 1.58 meters).
The Tigers also competed in the 1600-meter relay (Neve Schilling, Macyn Burris, Ashley Potter and Skylar Palmgren) and the 800-meter relay (Skylar Palmgren, Ashley Potter, Neve Schilling and Malia Morton), finishing 14th and 29th in those races, respectively.
