Girls Track: Oregon Hawks conclude season at IHSA State Championships

Tremble finishes fifth in 400, Bishop takes fifth in high jump, Hammer earns two medals in hurdle events

CHARLESTON — The Oregon High School varsity girls track and field team brought home multiple medals from the IHSA 1A State Championship at Eastern Illinois University from  May 22-24.

Jillian Hammer received state medals in the 300-meter hurdles (third - 44.46 seconds) and the 100-meter hurdles (fifth - 15.17 seconds). Grace Tremble medaled in the 400-meter dash (fifth - 57.68 seconds) and Skylar Bishop medaled in the high jump (fifth - 1.58 meters).

Oregon had state qualifiers participating in the pole vault (Sonya Plescia - 15th),  high jump (Grace Tremble - 16th) and discus (Alease McLain - 34th) as well as the 1600-meter relay (11th), 800-meter relay (13th) and 400-meter relay (17th).

Representing Oregon at the state meet were Madeline Rogers, Lorelai Dannhorn, Taylor Weems, Gabby Hoyle, Skylar Bishop, Miranda Ciesiel, Jillian Hammer, Sonya Plescia, Alease McLain, Daleanah Koertner and Grace Tremble.
