MT. MORRIS — Helen Louise Disch of Mt. Morris passed into our Lord’s hands on May 29, 2024. She was born Dec. 5, 1948 to Lois (Marshel) and Virgil Patterson in Kankakee. She attended various schools in Illinois including Oregon Public School. She married Jacob Disch in February 1967 and together they raised four sons: Melvin (Brooke) Patterson of Grovespring, Missouri; Jake (Theresa) Disch; Loren; and Robert Disch, all of Mt. Morris.
Louise’s hobbies included crocheting afghans reading, playing slotmania on her iPad and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Linda Payne, two brothers Bud (Rita) Millenbine and Gene Patterson of Oregon; ex-husband Jake Disch; special friend Duane Mon; one nephew; two nieces and a very special “Baby Bird.”
She is survived by her four sons; two brothers, Roger Patterson of Mt. Morris and Raymond Patterson of Ashton; two sisters, Mary (Victor) Struck and Maggie Smith; and sister-in-law Ann Patterson, all of Mt. Morris; five nieces, six nephews, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one more great grandson coming in October that she was looking forward to meeting.
Louise’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held June 15 at 506 Sunset Lane in Mt. Morris.
