OREGON – Jay E. Bieber, 53, of Oregon, died at 1:38 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 in The Serenity Home in Oregon, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 29, 1965 in Pierre, S.D., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Joyce (Martschinske) Bieber.
He lived 13 years in Oregon, coming here from Freeport. Jay graduated from Durand High School Class of 1983. Jay married Brenda L Pehl in Pecatonica on Jan. 7, 1984. He was employed as an electrician by Chrysler Corporation for 25 years. Jay served during peace time in U.S. Air Force. He was very proud of his military service in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked as a mechanic on the F-16 Fighter Jets. He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. You would often find Jay at the land caring for his horses. On nice days, Jay enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends. Jay was the go-to guy for any repairs or projects. He was the guy to call. He had traditional values and enjoyed his traditional country music and old western movies.
His survivors include: wife Brenda Bieber; daughter Sarah (Joe) Krupke; son Jacob Bieber; grandchildren Addison and Landon “George” Krupke; mother Joyce Bieber; sisters Jeannie Bieber, Vickie (John) Huwe; brother Dean (Tammy) Bieber; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
He is predeceased by his father.
A Memorial Ceremony was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 in St. John Lutheran Church 1301 Jackson Street Pecatonica, with Reverend Terry Theiss officiating. Cremation Rites to be accorded. A memorial visitation was held at McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel 101 Main St. Durand, IL from 5-8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Serenity Hospice and Home.
