DIXON – John “Jack” W. Diehl, 80 of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at KSB Hospital, Dixon. John was a heavy equipment operator prior to his retirement.
John was born Nov. 8, 1937 in Crawford, Neb., the son of Joseph A. and Florence (McLain) Diehl. He married Beverly Moser on Oct. 10, 1969, in Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army. Jack enjoyed operating heavy equipment, repairing engines, tractors, and taking scenic rides with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of 48 years; and one daughter, Mary Avey, both of Grand Detour.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; and two sisters.
Upon Jack’s request, there will be no services or visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Grand Detour Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
