OREGON – Karen Lucas, 62, of Oregon, died suddenly Monday, March 2, 2020 in KSB Hospital, Dixon. Born Sept. 13, 1957 in Chicago, the daughter of Robert M. and Martha (Herget) Fernandez.
Married to Thomas Lucas Oct. 16, 1999 in Chicago; he died June 20, 2017. Karen was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago and lived in Oregon the past 19 years, moving from Chicago. She was employed for many years as a cook and caregiver at Stouffer Terrace in Oregon and prior to that for many years in the Insurance Department at Montgomery Ward in Chicago. Karen enjoyed painting and cooking.
Survived by brothers, Robert (Ellen) Fernandez of Byron, Ramon Fernandez of Hinsdale and Michael Fernandez of Oregon; and nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by her parents and son, Tommy.
Cremation rites accorded with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon assisted the family with arrangements.
