STILLMAN VALLEY — Meridian Community Unit School District #223 recently proudly honored five outstanding staff members at its annual retirement dinner at Lino’s Italian Restaurant. Together, these dedicated individuals represent an incredible 138 years of service to the district, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment, care, and excellence.
This year’s retirees include: Cindy Meyers, paraprofessional – 13 years of service; Dana Brooks, teacher and district librarian – 31 years of service; Doug Schiltz, teacher – 26 years of service; Deb Thibodeau, custodian, cook, bus driver, paraprofessional, teacher – 36 years of service; and Scott Wilhite, teacher – 32 years of service.
The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt stories, and shared memories, as colleagues, friends, and family came together to celebrate the remarkable impact each retiree has had on students, staff, and the broader MCUSD #223 community.
Board President John Smith shared, “Each of these individuals has played a vital role in shaping the culture and success of our district. Their influence will be felt for generations to come.”
