FORRESTON — Michael Ray Norman was born November 27, 1948 in Rockford, IL. He passed at home with his loving wife Linda and their 2 dogs, Duke and Rizzo, May 14th, 2025. Michael (AKA Dusty Norman) loved to make beautiful handcrafted furniture, and at one time had a small craft store in Mount Morris, IL, but really was a jack of all trades always tinkering with something for his home he shared with Linda over the last 22 years. He grew up in Rockford, IL with his 8 brothers and 3 sisters. His favorite past time had always been fishing, fishing with his brothers, his sons, and his grandchildren.
He met the love of his life, Linda, in 1999 and have shared a lot over the last 22 years. Throughout the years Michael would call her at work every morning, just to say a short but sweet, "Good Morning Beautiful." They're love reflected in their blended family of 4 sons and 3 daughters. He was always willing to help others but always had a funny comment like "for a dollar".
His surviving family is his wife, Linda Norman. His sons, Paul Norman, Jeff (Suzanne) Norman, Jerry (Kay) Norman, and stepson Matthew (Christena) Carpenter. And his daughters Brenda Norman, Angel Besnight, and stepdaughter Amanda (Michael) McMillan. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Alex, Cameryn, Coby, Cayden, Madysen, Jake (Kaitlyn), Josh, Deja, Jay Cee, and Centell. And one great-granddaughter Carmen.
He is proceeded in death by his 6 brothers, Everett, Dennis, David, Brian, Richard, and John. His 3 sisters Irma, Irene, and Diane. His parents Elwood Everett and Dorothy Norman.
Services to be held at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, IL on Saturday, May, 17th at 2pm. A memorial has been established in his name.
