The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Chemere Thomas, 20 of Rockford, for driving with no valid license. Thomas was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Rte. 64 after being stopped for speeding.  Thomas was held in lieu of bond at the Jail.

Sept. 2

At approximately 1:16 a.m., Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of E North Park Drive for the report of a disturbance.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Erik A. Guglielmi, 37 of Byron,  for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Reckless Driving, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct.  Guglielmi was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with no bond.

At approximately 9:34 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 near mile marker 104 southbound. After investigation, Deputies issued Amber Talab, 41 of Rochelle an I-Bond for Driving While License Suspended and she was given a future court date. Talab was additionally issued a citation for speeding.

At approximately 11:36 p.m. Deputies performed a traffic stop on I-39 northbound at mile marker 104.  After investigation, Deputies issued Raul Perez-Crisostomo, age 38 of Streamwood an I-Bond for No Valid Driver’s License and was given a future court date.  Perez-Crisostomo was also issued a citation for speeding.

Sept. 1

At 2:29 a.m., deputies located a silver Saturn sedan stuck in the ditch of the 8700 block of N. IL RTE 2. It was determined the vehicle had driven off the edge of the parking lot and become stuck in the ditch while turning around. Through the course of the investigation, Roger L. Henson (72) of Byron, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Henson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Scott, 30 of Rockford, for driving while license revoked. Scott was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Rte. 64 after being stopped for speeding. Scott was held in lieu of bond at the Jail.

At 7:24 a.m., Ogle County Deputies, State Police, Rochelle and Lynn Scott Rock Fire Departments responded to a multiple vehicle accident at IL Rte. 64 and Lynnville Road. After brief investigation, it was discovered that Brandi Casey, 35 of Esmond, was traveling westbound on Rte. 64 in a Ford SUV when she slowed down to turn south onto Lynnville Road. Seretha Hollingsworth, 48 of Sycamore, was directly behind Casey in a Chevy Malibu and slowed down to allow the turn. Behind Hollingsworth was Ryan Scott, 35 of Sycamore, driving a Ford SUV. Scott failed to reduce speed and struck the back of Hollingsworth’s Malibu, which then struck Casey’s Ford SUV. After the collision, Hollingsworth’s vehicle rolled into the eastbound lane and struck a semi-truck driven by Sergio Sanchez, 45 of Elgin.  Sanchez observed and anticipated the collision allowing him to slow down to nearly a complete stop. Mary Criscione, 55 of Byron, was also traveling westbound in a Buick sedan behind Scott’s vehicle and traveled into the north ditch to avoid the accident. Two vehicles received disabling damage and were removed by Ron’s Towing. Medical personnel examined and released all parties involved on scene for suspected minor injuries. Scott was cited for electronic communications device and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. 

Aug. 30

At approximately 1:04 a.m., Ogle County Deputies along with Byron EMS responded to the 8900 block of N. IL Rte. 2 for a single vehicle rollover accident with injuries. An Investigation by Deputies revealed that Chase Clarke, 28 of Byron, was traveling north on Rte. 2 when he attempted to evade a group of deer in the roadway. Clarke lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the west ditch. Clarke was treated for suspected minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. The vehicle was removed by Maggio’s and no citations were issued.  

Aug. 29

At approximately 3:11 a.m., Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of N Adams St. in Polo for the report of a domestic disturbance. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested John W. Simmons, 43 of Polo, for Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct.  Simmons also had an active Ogle County warrant for Failure to Appear and an active LaSalle County Warrant for Failure to Appear.  Simmons was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with no bond. ​
