At 12:48 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department, and the Leaf River Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident with injuries in the 400 blk. E 3rd St. Leaf River. A blue Dodge Caravan was westbound on 3rd St. when the vehicle crossed over into the east bound lane and into the south side ditch striking an embankment. The vehicle continued westbound in the ditch striking a utility pole and tree before rolling over in the ditch and coming to a stop on its side. The driver, Michael P. Remhof, 65 of Leaf River was extricated from the vehicle by the Leaf River Fire Department and then transported to Swedish American Hospital by the Leaf River Ambulance with minor injuries. Remhof was arrested for failure to reduce speed and driving under the influence. Remhof was given an I bond at the hospital with a July court date.

At 3:23 p.m., Ogle COounty Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Stillman Rd and Holcomb Rd. A blue Dodge Dart was northbound on Stillman Rd. when the driver DC Robert Hitchcock, 32, of Oregon swerved to miss an animal causing the vehicle to enter the east side ditch and roll over into a field. After a further investigation Hitchcock was arrested for Failure to Reduce speedt to avoid an accident and Driving under the Influence. Hitchcok was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond and was given a July court date.

June 3

Ogle County Sheriff's Office received a call of a two vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of  Holcomb Rd and Meridian Rd. After an investigation it was determined that Beverly Lamkey of Holcomb stopped at the intersection but then  failed to yield for oncoming traffic. She continued west into the intersection and struck a pickup truck headed north. The driver of the truck was transported to Swedish American hospital with severe but no life-threatening injuries. The OCSO was assisted by LSR and Stillman Valley Fire Departments.

The following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
William C. Smalley ,48, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Smalley had a bond of $100. Smalley was relased from the Ogle County jail on a $1000 recog. Smalley will return to court on 06/24/19 at 9 a.m.

Jerry A. Lane-Barry, 36, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Lane-Barry had a bond of $1550.85. Lane-Barry was relased from the Ogle County jail on a $1,000 recog. Lane- Barry will return to court on 06/24/19 at 9 a.m.

June 2

At approximately 5:40 p.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Hoisington Rd. and Water Rd. After a short investigation Deputies identified the male driver as Daniel T. O'neill, 39 of Pecatonica. O'neill was traveling south bound on Hoisington Rd. where he failed to stop at a stop sign, traveling through the intersection of Hoisington Rd. and Water Road where O'neill exited the south side of the road way. O'neill was then transported via Byron EMS to the Swedish American Hospital. O'neill was then placed into custody for Driving Under the influence of Alcohol and issued citations for Failure to Stop at an Intersection, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Reckless Driving and Operate an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. O'neill was issued a $3,000.00/10% Individual Bond, with a return court date of 06-26-2019 at 9 a.m. at the Ogle County Court House and left in the care of Swedish American Hospital.

June 1

At approximately 7:23 p.m., Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident. After investigation, Deputies discovered an eastbound vehicle driven by Sean Powers, 46 of Ashton IL, struck westbound vehicle Keri Spinelli- Wittenauer, 26 of Amboy. Deputies were assisted by Ashton EMS and both parties were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. Powers was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Compounds and Driving on a Revoked License. The accident remains under investigation.

At 11:38 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Rte 72 and Triumph Rd. on a Gray Infiniti coup for one head light. After making contact with the driver Mark A. Velte, 25 of Leaf River, and conducting a short investigation, Deputies arrested Velte for Possession of 10 to 30 grams of Cannabis. Velte was issued a citation for Improper Head Light/One Head Lamp. Velte was then taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

At 9:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 2800 W. IL Rt. 72 for a two-vehicle crash. After an investigation it was determined Stanley Josephitis, 43 of Forreston, had crossed over the center line traveling westbound, striking another vehicle traveling eastbound. Josephitis was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Josephitis was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. All parties involved in the crash refused medical treatment.
