June 8

At 10:44 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Rt. 38 at Lincoln Highway in Rochelle for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Jacob Simpkins, 31 of Mcewen, Tenn., was arrested for possession of cannabis 100-500 grams, and improper container of cannabis as a driver. Simpkins was also cited for no rear registration light, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Simpkins was transported to the Ogle County jail and held pending an appearance before a judge.

At about 9:31 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a gray Toyota at the intersection of 9th Ave. and Tilton Park Dr. in Rochelle for an equipment violation. Pursuant to the stop, Rita M Walsh, 24, of Rochelle, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Walsh was released on a notice to appear with a court date of 7-16-21 at 0900 hours in Oregon at the Ogle County Courthouse.

At 9:14 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of N. Route 2.  After an investigation, deputies arrested James Jimenez, 41, of Dixon for driving while license suspended and speeding. Jimenez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.

June 6

At approximately 6:30 a.m., Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on I-39 at mile marker 99 southbound. Upon arrival, Deputies observed a blue Chevrolet Cruze with heavy front end and driver's side damage. After further investigation Damontae Perry, 23 of Rockford, was placed under arrest and issued a citation for No Valid License. Perry received additional citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to avoid an accident and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Perry was issued an I-bond with a future court date and released on scene.

June 5

At about 7:44 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Leaf River Fire, responded to a one vehicle rollover in the 800 block of S. Main St in Leaf River. After completing an investigation into the incident, it was determined that Cassandra Kaltenbrun, 45, of Mt Morris, had been traveling northbound in a 2001 green Subaru when she struck multiple parked cars and overturned. Kaltenbrun was transported to Swedish American Hospital for minor injuries. She was arrested and released on an I-Bond for DUI and No Valid Driver’s License, as well as cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, No Insurance, and Improper Use of Registration.

June 5

The Ogle County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Teara Burnside, 24 of Peoria, for driving while license suspended. Burnside was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding 103 MPH. Burnside was released on an I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

June 3

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Ogle County Deputies along with Rochelle EMS responded to the intersection of S. Mulford Rd and E. Twombly Rd for a two vehicle accident with minor injuries. After investigation, it was determined that a Honda sedan, driven by Alexander Chavez, 27 of Rochelle was traveling westbound on E. Twombly Rd, at which time he entered the intersection after failing to stop at a stop sign. The Honda was struck by a pickup truck driven by Jeremy Good, 37 of Rochelle, who was traveling northbound on S. Mulford Rd. Chavez was transported to the Rochelle Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. Chavez was also issued citations for Failure to Stop at an Intersection and No Valid Driver's License.

June 2

At 9:48 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop at IL Rt. 38 and S. Beck Rd for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Abigail E. Nimerfroh, 20 of Dekalb, was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Nimerfroh was also cited for no registration light. Nimerfroh was released on a signature I-bond.

At approximately 5:32 p.m., Deputies responded to an address in the 2000 block of West Mud Creek Rd in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation Lisa Smith, 32 of Mt Morris, was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Smith was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

June 10

At approximately 6:14 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Polo Fire Department and Mount Morris Fire Department responded to a two vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Pines Road and Lowell Park Road.  Investigation by Deputies revealed that a southbound box truck driven by Jaunot Nelson, 35 of Dallas, Texas, failed to stop at the stop sign on Lowell Park Road and entered the intersection.  The box truck was then struck by an eastbound vehicle traveling on Pines Road driven by Marcia Dewey, 37 of Polo. Dewey was transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS and subsequently air lifted to OSF Saint Anthony’s with serious injuries. A juvenile male passenger of Dewey’s vehicle was transported to a local hospital with suspected minor injuries. Nelson was issued citations for Disregarding an Official Traffic Control Device and Failure to Stop at an Intersection with a return court dated issued.

May 30

At 12:04 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of 1000 E. IL Rt. 64 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Alexis D. Cantrell, 22 of Chana, IL was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Cantrell was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Cantrell was also cited for no registration light.

The Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Kiernan Jacobson, 21 of Rockford for driving while license suspended. Jacobson was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding. Jacobson was held in lieu of bond at the jail.

May 29

At 8:40 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I88 at mile marker 77 east bound on a 2000 Volkswagen for loud exhaust. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Ivan Lugo-Tellez, 39 0f Des Moines, Iowa for no valid drivers license. Ivan was also cited for no insurance and unlawful transportation of alcohol.  Ivan was transported to the Ogle Co Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

At approximately 9:18 p.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to the 11000 block of E. Fisher Rd in reference to a possible accident in that area. After investigation, it was determined that Leonel Torres-Meza, 38 of Rochelle struck a parked vehicle that was unoccupied in a driveway. Torres-Meza was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued citations for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report a Vehicle Accident, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Lane Usage. Torres-Meza was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 10:40 p.m. Deputies investigated a domestic problem in the 2000 block of North Freeport Rd. After further investigation Matthew Strohecker, 27 of Freeport, was placed under arrest for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Strohecker was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop on IL E RT 64 at Interstate 39. After further investigation James M Love, 33 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for Driving on a suspended license. Love was also issued a citation for speed. Love was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to Correctional Staff and held in lieu of bond.  

At approximately 12:34 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of N. IL Rte 2. After an investigation, Deputies arrested Kayla Boyenga, 31 of Dixon, for possession of a controlled substance (Crack/Cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. Boyenga was also issued citations for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Boyenga was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

May 28

At approximately 7 p.m., Deputies responded to an address in the 100 block of South Maple St in Stillman Valley in reference to a domestic problem. After further investigation Corey Kelchner, 36 of Stillman Valley, was placed under arrest for Domestic Battery. Kelchner was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held pending an appearance before a judge.
