OREGON — On Jan. 28 at approximately 8:59 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4,000 block of West Illinois Route 64. After investigation, deputies placed Christian Grogan, 36, of Mt. Morris, under arrest for driving while license suspended and driving while license suspended without a BAID (class-four felony). Grogan was additionally issued a citation for use of electronic communication device. Grogan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.
On Jan. 28 at 10:22 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 eastbound at mile marker 79 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Darries L. Edwards Jr., 28, of Chicago was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Edwards was additionally cited for following too closely, and window tint. Edwards was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.
On Jan. 28 at 1:39 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at Illinois Route 251. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Jeric Degalicia, 28, of Chicago for driving while his license was suspended. Degalicia was released on a notice to appear.
On Jan. 28 at 10:49 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on North Illinois Route 2 at South Fox Run Lane in Byron. As a result, deputies arrested Lori Y. Patterson, 25, of Rockford for driving while license suspended. Patterson was additionally issued a citation for expired registration. Patterson was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.
On Jan. 29 at 11:44 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 northbound at mile marker 99 for a registration violation. After an investigation, Daniel Bermudez, 19, of Sterling was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Bermudez was also cited for no front registration. Bermudez was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.
On Jan. 30 at approximately 3:42 a.m. deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 300 block of South 4th Street in Oregon when a vehicle fled. After a short pursuit, Terrance B. Harris Jr., 21, of Oregon, was placed under arrest for fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer. Harris was also cited for speeding, improper turn signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and reckless driving. Harris was transported to the Ogle County Jail before being released on a notice to appear.
On Jan. 30 at approximately 7:34 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of West Illinois Route 64 and North Illinois Route 26. After an investigation, it was learned that a white 2018 Ford truck was westbound on Illinois Route 64 when it left the roadway after going through the intersection. The Ford then struck a tree and came to rest. The cause of the accident was the thick fog, causing minimal visibility. The two occupants of the vehicle were transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Polo Fire and EMS.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
