OREGON — On March 11 at 8:59 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested passenger Jeremiah J. Martin, 36, of Oregon on two Ogle County warrants (failure to appear for driving while license suspended and driving while license revoked), and a Winnebago County warrant (failure to appear for driving while license revoked). Martin was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. Martin was released on a notice to appear on the possession of a controlled substance charge, and lodged on the outstanding warrants in the Ogle County Jail. The driver, Debbarh N. Messenger, of Oregon was issued citations for operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended/mandatory insurance, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
On March 12 at 9:59 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Freeport Road for speeding. After an investigation, Ivis Nahun Funez Meza, 32, of Columbus, Ohio was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Funez Meza was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration, and speeding. Funez Meza was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on a notice to appear.
On March 13 deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and Freeport Road. It was later learned that a Chevy Equinox driven by 27-year-old Aimee Osborne of Bettendorf, Iowa was traveling southbound on Freeport Road and failed to stop or yield to a white Ram van traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 52 driven by 34-year-old William Hardiek of Dixon. Hardiek was transported to OSF St. Katharine Hospital for minor injuries. Osborne was issued citations for failure to obey a stop sign and expired registration. The Illinois State Police, Polo Police Department, Polo Fire Department, and Polo Ambulance all assisted at the location.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
