OREGON — On March 28 at 4:59 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of East Town Line Road. As a result, deputies arrested Robert J. Lorden, 40, of Moline for driving while license suspended. Lorden was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Deputies also issued passenger Hanna R. Rothermel, 37, of Moline, a citation for illegal transportation/possession of alcoholic liquor by passenger in a motor vehicle. Lorden was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.
On March 28 at approximately 10:19 p.m. deputies responded to an address in the 900 block of Main Street in Daysville. After further investigation Flint Stone, 51, of Daysville, was placed under arrest for domestic battery. Stone was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.
On March 28 at approximately 12:12 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 4th Street and Webster Street in Oregon. After investigation, deputies arrested Jared Voorhees, 49, of Sterling, on a Winnebago County warrant for failure to appear. Voorhees was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On March 29 at 11:07 a.m. deputies met with Tyler J. Groseclose, 22, of Polo in reference to an investigation that began on March 10. Groseclose was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct. He was given a notice to appear with a future court date.
On March 29 at approximately 6:53 a.m. deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Judson Road and Union Road in rural Polo. An initial investigation revealed a vehicle traveling southbound on Union Road disobeyed the stop sign at Judson Road. The vehicle then continued southbound where it lost control and entered the east ditch, overturning multiple times. The driver, Logan Linker, 21, of Byron, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The incident is still under investigation. Deputies were assisted by Polo Police and Polo Fire/EMS.
On March 29 at approximately 4:01 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Clay Street, just east of South Fourth Street in Oregon. As a result, deputies arrested Lachandra L. Stokes, 42, of Rockford, for driving with no valid license. Stokes was additionally issued citations for expired registration, operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended/mandatory insurance, and unlawful possession of cannabis/driver. Deputies also cited passenger, Shamus L. French, 41, of Rockford, for unlawful possession of cannabis/passenger, and illegal transportation/carry alcoholic liquor/passenger. Stokes was released on a notice to appear with a future court date. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Oregon Police Department.
On March 30 at approximately 4:31 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of East Illinois Route 64. After an initial investigation, deputies placed Devin Thevenot, 30, of Ashton, under arrest for no valid driver's license. Thevenot was also cited for speeding 35+ miles per hour over the posted limit. Thevenot was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear bond with a future court date.
On March 30 at approximately 7:04 p.m. deputies responded to an address in the 100 block of River Road, Hillcrest, for a disturbance. After an investigation, Chris W. Wolfert, 66, of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for aggravated assault. Wolfert was additionally charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of firearm without FOID and possession of ammunition without FOID. Wolfert was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.
On March 30 at approximately 9:30 p.m. deputies responded to an address in the 6,000 block of West Wagner Road for a disturbance. After further investigation, Erik Peterson, 47, of German Valley, was placed under arrest for domestic battery. Peterson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.
On March 30 at 4:30 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of East Illinois Route 64 for a lane violation. After an investigation, Dominic Archer, 24, of Chana, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Archer was also cited for improper lane usage. Archer was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released with a future court date.
On March 30 at approximately 1:01 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near East Illinois Route 64 and Interstate 39. After investigation, deputies arrested Alejandro Ortega-Sanchez, 49, of Malta, on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Ortega-Sanchez was also cited for no insurance. Ortega-Sanchez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On March 31 at approximately 4 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 52 and Freeport Road. After an investigation it was determined that a black Ford Explorer being driven by Kenneth Vandermolen, 55, of Caroga Lake, New York, was northbound on Freeport Road and failed to yield the right of way to a red Jeep Wrangler traveling west on Illinois Route 52. The Jeep was being driven by Dennis White, 72, of Dubuque, Iowa. White was transported to St. Katharine Hospital in Dixon for injuries sustained in the accident where he was treated and released. Vandermolen and his passenger were uninjured and refused medical attention at the scene. Vandermolen was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way at an intersection and is due to appear in Ogle County court.
On March 31 at 11:33 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on North Walnut Avenue at North Baileyville Road in Forreston for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Chad Sparby, 34, of Dixon was arrested for an in-state warrant for failure to appear for possession of meth. Sparby was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting and obstructing a peace officer. Sparby was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear for the new charges, but held on the warrant for failure to appear.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
