Polo baseball team takes down Orangeville

The Polo High School varsity baseball team took down Orangeville 8-2 on Wednesday, April 16. Logan Nelson went 4 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, while Korbin Cavanaugh went 2 for 4 with two singles and two RBIs. Jeffrey Donaldson added an RBI and Gage Zeigler struck out six batters over four innings pitched.

Forreston softball team concedes shutout loss to North Boone

The Forreston High School varsity softball team totaled two hits in a 15-0 loss against North Boone on Wednesday, April 16. Ayla Kiper and McKenna Rummel each recorded singles for the Cardinals in the loss.

Polo softball team loses shutout against Orangeville

The Polo High School varsity softball team lost in a 10-0 shutout against Orangeville on Wednesday, April 16. Cam Jones, Cheyenna Wilkins, Samantha Gray and Grace Miatke each had hits for the Lady Marcos in the loss.

Oregon girls soccer team defeats Winnebago

The Oregon High School varsity girls soccer team defeated Winnebago 4-2 on Thursday, April 17. Anna Stender recorded a hat trick with three goals, while Sarah Eckardt added one goal and three assists for the Hawks (6-3-1, 2-2 BNC). Noelle Girton totaled 11 saves in the win.

Oregon softball team shuts out Forreston

The Oregon High School varsity softball team shut out Forreston 6-0 in Ogle County action on Friday, April 18. Brooke Halverson went 3 for 3 with an RBI while pitching four innings and striking out six batters. Isabelle Berg added six strikeouts over three innings pitched while going 2 for 4 at the plate. Ayla Kiper went 2 for 3 to lead the Forreston offense.

Izzy Berg and Brooke Halverson combined to strike out eight batters over four scoreless frames in the circle.

Ella Dannhorn went 2 for 4 with two singles and two runs scored for the Hawks, who saw Brooke Halverson finish 2 for 3 with one RBI at the plate while striking out nine batters over four no-hit innings from the circle.
