Forreston softball team blows out Ashton-Franklin Center

The Forreston High School varsity softball team blew out Ashton-Franklin Center for a 22-4 victory on Monday, March 17. Aubrey Sanders pitched two innings and struck out five batters while finishing 4-for-5 with two doubles, one triple and seven RBIs. Caroline Bawinkel went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs and three RBIs, while Isabella Thiel went 2-for-5 with two singles, three RBIs and three strikeouts over one and two-thirds innings pitched. Alice Kobler went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Cardinal offense in the win.

Forreston baseball team wins big over Ashton-Franklin Center

The Forreston High School varsity baseball team won big over Ashton-Franklin Center on Monday, March 17. The Cardinals topped the Raiders 16-3, with Brendan Greenfield pitching four innings and striking out six batters. Daniel Koehl went 3-for-3 with one double, three runs and three RBIs, while Carson Akins went 4-for-5 with four runs, one double and two RBIs. Darin Greenfield added one single and two RBIs for the Cardinals in the win.

Oregon girls soccer team takes down Winnebago

The Oregon High School varsity girls soccer team took down Winnebago 6-3 on Monday, March 17. Anna Stender scored three goals and added one assist, while Shaylee Davis tallied two goals and one assist. Noelle Girton chipped in one goal and Addison Rufer notched one assist for the Hawks (1-0-0), who received five saves from Mili Zavala.

Oregon softball team walks off for win over Amboy

The Oregon High School varsity softball team earned a walk-off win over Amboy, defeating the Clippers 7-6 on Tuesday, March 18. Ella Dannhorn went 2-for-4 with one double, one home run and two RBIs, while Emma Schlichtmann went 2-for-2 and hit the game-winning RBI single. Abree Barker went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two pitchers, Isabelle Berg and Brooke Halverson, combined to throw seven innings and strike out seven batters.

The Forreston High School varsity softball team edged out Polo 4-2 in an Ogle County matchup on Tuesday, March 18. Aubrey Sanders went 2-for-3 with one double and three RBIs while pitching five innings and striking out nine batters for the Cardinals. Cheyenna Wilkins pitched five and one-third innings for Polo, striking out eight batters. Leah Tobin went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Lady Marcos, while Cam Jones went 3-for-4 and Bella Witkowski went 2-for-4.
