Oregon boys soccer team takes down Pecatonica

The Oregon High School varsity boys soccer team defeated Pecatonica 4-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Irvin Acosta, Cruz Hernandez, Aiden Hammer and Jackson Caposey all scored goals. Acosta, Eduardo Garcia and Noah Near each had assists, while Deryk Withers totaled two saves for the Hawks (10-9-2, 4-4 BNC).

Forreston volleyball team wins over Pearl City

The Forreston High School varsity volleyball team scored a 25-20, 25-13 win over Pearl City on Thursday, Oct. 10. Jaiden Schneiderman recorded 25 kills, six digs and one ace, while Ennen Ferris added 27 assists and six digs. Ayla Kiper totaled 10 digs and Aubrey Sanders added seven digs with two aces.

Oregon volleyball team defeats Dixon

The Oregon High School varsity volleyball team won 25-17, 25-10 over Dixon on Thursday, Oct. 10. Anna Stender totaled eight digs, four kills and two aces, while Grace Tremble recorded eight digs and six kills. Skylar Bishop added five blocks and four kills in the win. Oregon’s JV team fell 25-19, 22-25, 9-15 and the F/S team fell 19-25, 19-25.

Polo football team blows out Rockford Christian Life

The Polo High School varsity football team blew out Rockford Christian Life 68-6 on Friday, Oct. 11. Noah Dewey rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown while adding a 58-yard receiving touchdown. Gus Mumford rushed for a 59-yard touchdown and Billy Lowry rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown. Gage Zeigler rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown. JT Stevenson rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown. Quentin Hart rushed for 29 yards and one touchdown. Robert Hazarin rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown. Damon Rowe caught a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Oregon football team dominates Rock Falls

The Oregon High School varsity football team rolled over Rock Falls 55-19 on Friday, Oct. 11. Logan Weems rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown, while Keaton Salsbury rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Hunter Bartel rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper Johnson rushed for a 57-yard touchdown and Lucas Cole rushed for a 13-yard touchdown.

Byron football team crushes Winnebago

The Byron High School varsity football team dominated Winnebago 64-0 on Friday, Oct. 11. Brayden Knoll rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns, while Kaden McGough rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Issac Alvarez rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown and Denton Shank caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Talbert. Nathan Wheeler and Ryder Spaulding each ran for touchdowns in the win.

Forreston football team edges out Southwestern Wildcats

The Forreston High School varsity football team edged out the Southwestern Wildcats for a 20-16 victory on Friday, Oct. 11. Evan Boettner rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown, while Dane Setterstrom ran for 31 yards and one touchdown. Jon Milnes ran for 89 yards and one touchdown for the Cardinals.

Oregon volleyball team falls against Rockford Lutheran

The Oregon High School varsity volleyball team conceded a 25-21, 18-25, 21-25 loss against Rockford Lutheran on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Madi Shaffer recorded 21 digs and five aces, while Anna Stender compiled 13 digs, seven kills and seven assists. Emma Eckerd added a double-double with 11 digs and 13 assists. Oregon’s JV team defeated Rockford Lutheran 26-24, 25-19.
