Oregon Avalanche softball teams well represented at Autumn on Parade

Posted

OREGON — Oregon Avalanche softball teams decorated their parade float with Avalanche Spirit Wear for the 53rd annual “Whimsical Weekend“ Autumn on Parade in Oregon. The float was decorated in team colors, using balloons, signs, and glitter! Current and past team players rode on the float they all helped decorate. Over 100 pounds of candy was thrown out to the spectators along the parade route.

The community is important to the organization. Starting Oct. 16 to Nov. 15, Avalanche is collaborating with Ogle County 4-H for a “Spread the Warmth” Cold Weather Gear Drive. Drop off new socks or new or like new gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, coats, snow pants, or any other cold weather gear at the Ogle County Extension office, 421 W. Pines Road in Oregon. All donations benefit Lifeline Food and Self-Help Project in Oregon. Avalanche will also be volunteering at the Oregon Candlelight Walk at the children’s games and crafts.

It's not too late to join our team. Come out in January and meet our coaches and players at Sunday practices at the Blackhawk Center in Oregon. Contact Coach Nate at 815-979-2094 with any questions.
