OREGON – Local talent Lynn Kaufman loves cooking.
Her interest in cooking began in college taking food classes, working on her dietetic degree, and helping her mom prepare holiday meals. For 17 years she taught high school students the basics of food preparation. Now she has her own food blog, bakes, and sells homegrown items at the Rivers’ Edge Market and she is still teaching today and offering some fun classes through the Oregon Park District.
Learn to make a Ratatouille Skillet from Lynn on Wednesday, Aug. 25. This evening class is offered at Cork & Tap. Sign up today as the registration deadline is Aug. 18. You will enjoy preparing this beautiful French vegetable dish.
If French food isn’t your thing, how about the classic American Apple Pie? The Apple Pie Class is a couple’s class on Friday, Sept. 24, also at Cork & Tap. Bring your special someone to class, or it’s perfect for Mother’s and daughters to learn the pie tricks of the trade together. Friends will also enjoy this night out, but only 1 pie will be made per couple. Lynn will teach participants how to make the perfect flaky, buttery homemade pie crust filled with fresh apples and topped with a crunchy cinnamon topping or a 2-crust pie. Bake the pie at home after the workshop or freeze for the upcoming holidays!
