SVHS Environmental Club earns bench

Posted

STILLMAN VALLEY — The Stillman Valley High School Environmental Club has participated in collecting soft plastic for recycling for four years now. There are a number of community partners in the area that have teamed up with the Environmental Club to keep this plastic out of the landfills. One of those partners is the Dekalb Salvation Army Corps Food Pantry. For every 1,000 pounds of plastic that is collected a recycled plastic bench is earned. As a result of the most recent 1,000-pound milestone the Dekalb Salvation Army Corps Food Pantry has received their second recycled plastic bench. It is groups like this and the other community partners that help make our planet a cleaner place.
