MOUNT MORRIS – For the second year in a row, Wisconsin's premier Blues Band, The Jimmys, make their triumphant return to the Mount Morris Band Shell on June 7 to open the 2019 season with a big, happy blast of joyful noise.

One of the hottest tickets on the summer festival circuit and recent recipients of many more Madison Area Music Awards, Jimmy and his stellar group bring their high energy show back to our free Friday night Mount Morris Jamboree for a two-hour performance starting at 7 p.m.

The Jimmys have been ripping up stages with their unique blend of blues, soul, funk and R&B for nearly 10 years. Award-winning keyboardist/singer/songwriter Jimmy Voegeli has put together an all-star lineup: Perry Weber, veteran blues guitarist/singer/songwriter; Chris Sandoval on drums; John Wartenweiler with his powerful bass lines and deep groove; Amateur Horn Stars - Pete Ross, saxophone; Mike Boman, trumpet; and Kevan Feyzi on trombone - combine 40+ years' experience touring the world with Clyde Stubblefield , the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Youngblood Brass Band, BB King and his All Stars and many others.

Be sure to arrive early to get a good spot for the night and remember to bring a chair or blanket as the new benches will fill up fast as this band always sets a record attendance for our program.

Concessions for the evening will be provided by the Mount Morris Moose Lodge starting at 6 p.m. Come out to support a good cause and enjoy their famous grilled burgers and pulled pork served with coleslaw, chips, soda, water and brownies.

Several local small business vendors will often join us on the Campus, including Jen's Artisan Breads and Pecatonica River Honey. June 7 is also opening night at the Encore Old Sandstone Art Gallery next door, featuring artwork from students in the Oregon/Mt. Morris School district, open from 6-9 p.m. The whole evening kicks off with the Mt. Morris Community Farmer's Market, located at the corner of Rt. 64 and Wesley Ave. from 4-7 p.m. every Friday through October. Come join the fun on our beautiful, historic Campus in the center of Mount Morris, two blocks south of Rt. 64 on Wesley Avenue and be ready to dance the night away and have a rollicking good time.

In the event of inclement weather, our rain location will be at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge at 101 Moose Dr.
