Two hurt in Oregon crash


OREGON – Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident in Oregon on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

At about 2 p.m. Oregon Police responded to the two-vehicle accident on West Washington at 5th Street. Steven T. Lindsey, 39, Machesney Park, was driving a 2019 Ford van westbound on Washington Street which struck a 2011 Ford pickup driven by Clifford K. Thompson, 66, Oregon which was turning onto Washington Street from North 5th Street.

Lindsey was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and disobeying traffic control device. Lindsey was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Oregon Ambulance and was released without treatment. Thompson was transported to KSB by Mount Morris Ambulance.
Oregon Police was assisted on scene by the Oregon Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation.
